Although our 5th annual Uncork for a Cure looked a little different in 2020, our community of doctors, patients, survivors, and donors made the virtual events a huge success.
Because of your continued support, we've raised over $172,000! With that addition, the Dynami foundation has now raised over 1 million dollars over the past five years for breast cancer research and survivorship.

The sold-out event was held at Cauley Ferrari on November 9, 2019. Guests enjoyed delectable dishes throughout the night prepared by Detroit's most celebrated chefs including Luciano Del Signore of Bacco Ristorante & Pernoi; Joe Giacomino & John Vermiglio of Grey Ghost; Brad Greenhill of Takoi; Doug Hewitt of Chartreuse Kitchen; Andy Hollyday of Selden Standard; Thomas Lents of The Apparatus Room & Chef’s Table; Anthony Lombardo of SheWolf Pastificio; Bobby Nahra Guest Chef of Fox2 News & Encore Catering & Banquet Center; James Rigato of Mabel Gray; Sarah Welch of Marrow; and Takashi Yagihashi of Pernoi. Guests uncorked fine wine paired by the first female Master Sommelier in the United States and second female Master Sommelier in the world, Madeline Triffon of Plum Market. Triffon and her hand-picked team of experts served attendees with heart-warming hospitality and impeccable recommendations.
The $340k in proceeds from the event supported the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Oncology Program and the breast oncology surgical fellowship, which assists patient care and research.

The third annual Uncork for a Cure was held on November 9, 2018 with more than 350 guests gathering at Cauley Ferrari in West Bloomfield to support the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center Breast Oncology Program and Breast Care Center. A strolling dinner was served by a team of some of Detroit's most coveted chefs, including Luciano DelSignore from Bacco, Andy Hollyday from Selden Standard, James Rigato of Mabel Gray, and Kate Williams from Lady of the House. Guests uncorked fine wine paired by the first female Master Sommelier in the United States and second female Master Sommelier in the world, Madeline Triffon of Plum Market. Triffon and her hand-picked team of experts served attendees with heart-warming hospitality and impeccable recommendations. The evening also included a silent auction, luxury cars, and a trunk show featuring Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry.
The proceeds from the event funded three critical and ongoing research projects:
“Characterization of Unique Phenotype of Lobular Breast Cancer CTCs” by Monika Burness, M.D. and Eusik Yoon, Ph.D.;
“Molecular Refinement of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Definition in Tissue and Liquid Biopsies” by Costanza Paoletti, M.D.; and
“Elucidating the Mechanism of CDK4/6 Inhibitor-mediated Radiosensitization of ER+ Breast Cancers” by Corey Speers, M.D., Ph.D.

On September 14, 2017 we held the 2nd Annual Uncork for a Cure. The sold-out event was held at Bacco Ristorante in Southfield, Michigan. Guests enjoyed delectable dishes created by several James Beard Foundation Award nominees, including owner and four-time James Beard Award nominated chef Luciano Del Signore, James Beard Award-nominated chef and owner James Rigato of Mabel Grey, and three-time James Beard Award semi-finalist and owner and executive chef Andy Hollyday of Selden Standard, as well as Bacco Ristorante’s executive chef, Gabriel Botezan. Guests uncorked fine wine paired by the first female Master Sommelier in the United States and second female Master Sommelier in the world, Madeline Triffon of Plum Market. Triffon and her hand-picked team of experts served attendees with heart-warming hospitality and impeccable recommendations. There was a glamorous trunk show featuring Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry and silent auction.
The $170k in proceeds from the event supported The Breast Cancer Survivorship Clinic at the University of Michigan Rogel Rogel Cancer Center. The Initiative is designed for women who have had breast cancer and provide patients with strategies to optimize their overall health and wellness- now and in the future. An overall goal of survivorship is to assist patients in learning more about health issues that may occur following completion of their breast cancer treatment and strategies to address these issues and concerns. The Inaugural Uncork for a Cure event was held on September 28, 2016. About 140 guests arrived at Bacco Ristorante and were treated to a array of magnificent wines and hors d’ oeuvres during a reception before being seated for a four-course dinner masterfully prepared by owner and four-time James Beard Award-nominated chef Luciano DelSignore of Bacco and James Beard Award-nominated chef and owner James Rigato of Mabel Gray. Guests uncorked fine wine paired by the first female Master Sommelier in the United States and second female Master Sommelier in the world, Madeline Triffon of Plum Market. Triffon and her hand-picked team of experts served attendees with heart-warming hospitality and impeccable recommendations. In addition, Saks Fifth Avenue displayed a beautiful collection of Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry modeled by stunning Farmington Hills talent agent Renee Godin.
The $65k in proceeds from the event supported the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Oncology Program and the breast oncology surgical fellowship, which assists patient care and research.

PAST EVENTS
BASBLUE FIRESIDE CHAT
This Fireside Chat on Breast Health was held at BasBlue and fostered transformational dialogue to engage women from the Detroit community in networking and empowerment while learning from leading experts in breast health from Karmanos Cancer Institute and University of Michigan.
The event was moderated by Jacqueline Jeruss, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Vice President for Research, Integrity and Compliance, Associate Dean for Regulatory Affairs, Director, Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship and Professor of Surgery, Pathology, and Biomedical Engineering at University of Michigan.
It featured a multidisciplinary panel of providers in the fields of Surgery, Medical Oncology, Breast Imaging, and Gynecology. Guests had the opportunity to ask experts about breast and women's health, get help to decipher the myths from the truth, and learn about the latest in breast mammograms, breast density, women's gynecological health, diagnosis, and prevention.

We sipped, we snacked and we shopped at Neiman Marcus Troy for their 'Incircle After Dark' event benefiting the Dynami Foundation! The event featured shoe and handbag custom artwork by El Cappy, music by Ro Spit, fashion Illustration by Nicole Jarecz and sweets by Sweet Dreamz Creamery.

VINTAGE TRUNK SHOW
Trunk Show with Detroiter and Bravo Celebrity Christos Garkinos (of Covet by Christos) at the Detroit Foundation Hotel. This 'sip n shop' event featured an incredible selection of vintage clothing and accessories from brands like Gucci, Prada and Chanel. A portion of sales benefited the Dynami Foundation.

PLUM MARKET PARTNERSHIP
The Dynami Foundation partnered with Plum Market to donate to the Uncork For a Cure cause at all Michigan locations in 2019. Locals shopped to support the cause by rounding up on their tab at check-out or simply donating a flat amount. We have raised $13,000 to-date through this initiative for breast cancer research!
Master Sommelier of Plum Market, Madeline Triffon, who is also the first Woman Master Sommelier in the United States, curates wine pairings for the annual Uncork For a Cure event. Triffon is dedicated to supporting breast cancer research as her family has been directly affected by the disease. She supported her cousin, Dynami founder, Flora Migyanka, as she survived her diagnosis.
